## Posting Summary
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking an Administrative Analyst V for the Office of Finance and Administration, within Rutgers Biomedical Health Sciences. The Administrative Analyst V reports to the Director of Special Projects in the Office of the Senior Vice Chancellor for Finance and Administration, RBHS, and deals daily with highly confidential and sensitive financial and operational information.and will have exposure to a variety of initiatives, both academic and hospital operations, based within RBHS and Rutgers Health. Assumes responsibilities through several areas, schools, units/institutes expanding skills by developing new projects, working on teams or doing research in such areas as finance, performance improvement/human resources, patient safety/quality improvement, marketing/communications and high-level strategic planning through various methods. Gains vast exposure to RBHS and Rutgers Health through project-based initiatives involving many schools, centers/institutes, departments, functions and divisions. Under direct supervision, the Administrative Analyst V assists in the review, analysis and appraisal of current department administrative procedures, organization and performance, and helps to prepare recommendations for changes and/or revisions. Other related work assignments are the following:
* Assists in reviewing department programs and activities, and in evaluating their administration, objectives, efficiency, effectiveness and suitability to current conditions, costs, and goals, using established procedures and standards.
* Assists in the work involved in determining whether department activities and programs are essential and are carried out economically and efficiently.
* Assists in appraising the adequacy and effectiveness of computer systems; assists in the development of the organizational structure and methods of operation necessary for the performance of existing, new, or expanded functions.
* Assists in the investigation and development of solutions for problem areas, identifies and works toward the elimination of unnecessary and/or wasteful administrative practices and positions; helps to determine where program and/or administrative duplication may exist.
* Assists in developing, and preparing plans and methods of organization; assists with the development of financial programs and policies.
* Assists in the analysis of the administrative implications of legislation.
* Assists in the planning, developing, and conducting of analytical studies of existing operations and routines to determine feasibility for computerization and makes recommendations, as needed.
* Assists in the analyses of statistical, financial and operating reports to determine work backlogs, substandard operations and/or other unfavorable conditions.
* Assists in the preparation and maintenance of bulletins, manuals of policies, procedures and instructional materials.

## Minimum Education and Experience
* Bachelor's Degree in a related area.
* Equivalent experience, education and/or training may be substituted for the education requirements.
## Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
* Must be computer literate and be able to become proficient in computer applications, as required by the department or unit.
