Job Description
UBM is seeking a talented individual to join the Medica team in the role of **Associate Publisher**.

**JOB SUMMARY:**
Responsible for multi-channel sales in segments which will include managed care (also termed managed markets and/or payer marketing) and pharmacy market sectors (hospital/health system and retail). Develops sales strategies to identify potential customers for each market group. Works with content and marketing to develop new programs and products to successfully develop and sell to these accounts. Creates and executes digital and integrated sales strategy for account sets that will include pharma and OTC healthcare accounts to meet revenue goals.
This position requires prospecting, qualifying, pursuing and developing both advertising agency and brand marketing contacts. You will primarily represent marketing offerings in the managed care sector with some accounts in the retail/health system pharmacy space as well.
**RESPONSIBILITIES:**
* Identifies and/or maximizes the sales opportunity for assigned in assigned product or customer category, or territory; includes current and potential customers, market leaders and/or strong market influencers.
* Contacts customers, prepares presentations, identifies and closes sales opportunities.
* Researches customer/client needs and creates a solution that meets their objectives.
* Generates direct sales from cold calling, follow-up calling, industry trade shows, and face to face meetings.
* There will be an emphasis on face-to-face meetings with outside sales account base - with up to 50% of time being spent within territory for live meetings.
* Creates a sales plan to achieve revenue goals.
* Meets or exceed forecasted revenue and custom program revenue for Key Accounts by selling integrated programs which satisfy the predetermined needs of clients using a consultative selling style while being personable, professional and accommodating manner.
* Manages and sells to existing accounts as well as continues to build new relationships.
* Develops a thorough understanding of the Medica Portfolio, the advertisers, policies, services and culture to maintain and attract new customers/business.
* Performs extensive research on marketplace developing lists of new prospects and lists of existing accounts for follow-up process; works with management to develop growth opportunities.
* Works with content and marketing to develop new programs to win business from new categories.
* Provides ongoing sales pipeline metrics and plans to reach annual sales revenue target assigned.
* Performs research in the marketplace, developing lists of new prospects and lists of existing accounts for contact and/or follow-up purposes.
* Develops and maintains contact lists for agencies and marketing companies providing services to our customers.
* Utilizes SalesForce.com for all client contact and scheduling, and opportunities pipeline management.
* Maintains strong industry credibility through mandatory attendance at industry events, staying up to date on new market developments and vendor solutions; and communicating this information to both key existing accounts and potential new accounts.
* Provides strategic input and direction to help guide the team on products and market trends.
* Attends other internal mandatory meetings and trainings as required.
* Provides support and performs special projects as needed.
**REQUIREMENTS:**
* Bachelors degree in marketing, business communications, sales or related area
* 10 years publishing/sales experience. Must be able to understand the issues relevant to the selling market and industry with the ability to listen to and understand the customer and supplier expectations, needs and wants
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal) and able to present in front of medium to large audiences.
* Highly organized with strong attention to detail, exemplary interpersonal skills within a fast paced, evolving environment.
* A go-getter attitude who can work independently, who is friendly, outgoing, and able to work in and metrics driven environment.
* Must be proficient with experience in MS Office applications. SalesForce.com experience is a PLUS
* Travel is required both air and ground - up to 50%
