Global Brokerage Project Group Manager (Virtual)
UPS is seeking a Global Brokerage Project Group Manager to set the direction and execution of global development projects for the business unit. He/She monitors legal and regulatory changes, advises the business on requirements changes in global duty and tax rules, and supports the business in automated product harmonization rules. He/She also supervises managers and supervisors. This is a virtual position.

**Responsibilities and Duties**

+ Builds relationships with broker partners to understand new clearance options and opportunities in the network

+ Monitors global duty and tax rules and advise and maintain related business rules

+ Assess all possible avenues for automated classification/harmonization of product catalogs

+ Monitors effectiveness of manual and automated classification to actual duty and tax determinations by brokers

+ Reviews project requirements with the management team to receive approval to proceed

+ Provides Project Management discipline and methodology to projects to ensure proper governance, oversight, strategic alignment, and project success

+ Facilitates initiation and planning of projects to determine project scope (e.g., objectives, resources, milestones, risks, communications, etc.) from high level to task level

+ Monitors and controls projects throughout the project life cycle to ensure constraints (e.g., timing, scope, costs, etc.) are managed

+ Manages resources and people processes (e.g., Performance Management, Career Development, Training, Staffing, etc.) to ensure the day to day administration of processes and formal procedures

+ Conducts frequent performance evaluations in a consistent, fair, and objective manner to facilitate open communication and encourage continuous performance improvement

+ Holds others accountable to established performance levels to achieve individual and group goals

+ Resolves individual and group performance issues in accordance with UPS's policies and procedures in a timely manner to motivate and foster teamwork

+ Coaches others and provides on-going feedback and support to improve performance

+ Identifies opportunities to involve others in new and challenging work assignments and/or rotations that advance the skills and capabilities of individuals and the organization

+ Makes salary recommendations to reward employee performance

**Knowledge and Skills**

+ Familiarity with Agile project management techniques

+ Demonstrates a broad understanding of business requirements or critical elements of a problem; identifies the impact of a problem on multiple areas of the business; recommends improvements to existing processes or programs

+ Develops and executes project management plans for moderately complex and medium duration projects as well as basic programs; defines most of the initiatives project needs and cross-functional roles/responsibilities throughout the project life cycle; develops recommendations on best way to fulfill the project requirements given the current project and organizational dynamics; overcomes basic organizational resistance to cross-functional demands; demonstrates the ability to successfully apply the project management discipline and remains current on project management practices and tools

+ Uses in-depth techniques to uncover new information or details that are not readily available; selects techniques and strategies that are appropriate for the audience; chooses techniques that result in more accurate and thorough information; implements strategies that minimize biases and preconceived ideas
