Head of US PRALUENT
The Head of US PRALUENT is directly responsible for overseeing the commercialization of this novel treatment for cholesterol reduction.


Launched in the US in 2015, Praluent is a critical growth driver for the Diabetes and CV Business Unit.


This leader will play an important role at a critical time for the brand.


Responsibilities include overseeing the refinement of the overall US strategy (professional, payer and patient), full P&L accountability, and direct leadership for the U.S. business inclusive of marketing, account management/ managed care activities and medical strategy, all in close partnership with our external partners, Regeneron.


This role is responsible for managing the revenue growth and profitability of key strategic asset. This will require strong strategic and KOL networking skills, deep knowledge of the US and Global CV/Lipid Market, and innovation/entrepreneurial skills to build novel approaches to commercialize this revolutionary treatment.


Managing the business to optimal performance will require strong leadership, exceptional commercial acumen and an increasingly productive and efficient organization. Additional challenges include the evolving U.S. managed care environment, competitive environment, the increasing importance of strategic alliances, an increased focus on compliance, and increasing public relations issues for the pharmaceutical industry. Addressing these market forces, while simultaneously increasing the competitive position of the company and balancing multiple risk factors will be a significant leadership challenge.

**_Major Responsibilities:_**


**Launch Excellence**

In partnership with Global Launch Readiness team, lead US/Global preparation for launch of the Odyssey Outcomes Data and ensure all elements of the plan are designed and executed with precision and excellence.


**Strategy and Plans**


+ Develop and deploy strategies to achieve business goals, maintain/improve sales, profit, market share and cash flow consistent with goals of the BU and the long term strategic plans of the company

+ Optimize sales force performance and return on investment. Enhance sales force capabilities and continue to develop innovative commercial strategies to ensure success in an evolving healthcare environment.

+ Proactively shape the customer market environment, develop customer/channel marketing strategies to position our products and create value for company and our patients/customers, build account management capabilities to defend and improve our market position and depth of access by delivering strong, trust-based relationships with customers and stakeholders

+ Challenge existing processes and practices to create a differentiating innovation in all aspects of delivery

+ Define training requirements and ensure training development of sales and marketing teams

+ Proactively partner with other Specialty BUs and Primary Care BUs to ensure cross company collaboration


**Deliver the Numbers**


+ Achieve sales, profit, market share and cash flow targets within agreed budgets


**Monitoring and Control**


+ Monitor and review business performance of sales and marketing teams and ensure management actions are taken to secure adherence to agreed plans

+ Ensure operational efficiency and effectiveness of all aspects of the business. Manage budget to highest impact opportunities.


**External Relations**


+ Ensure promotional activities are in compliance with guidelines and regulations

+ Develop and strengthen strategic relationships with customers (e.g. physicians, group practices, pharmacies, KOLs and payors) in the therapeutic area to support medical and commercial activities in alignment with compliance guidelines to ensure continued premiere status of the company

+ Develop patient advocacy strategies

+ Close collaboration and partnership with Regeneron to ensure excellence in Alliance Management


**People and Organization**


+ Lead teams with direct and in-direct reports

+ Provide personal leadership to inspire and motivate sales force and marketing teams to continuously strive for excellence

+ Select and develop key talent and ensure retention of high-performers

+ Strengthen the team and the company by creating a winning spirit and by developing excellence-oriented and customer-focused culture, fostering innovation and building best in class teams

+ Drive talent acquisition, succession planning and development of BU associates


**_Educational Requirements_**


Undergraduate degree in business or related discipline required. An advanced degree is a positive; an MBA preferred.


**Experience** **_:_**


+ A seasoned and talented individual with at least 15 years of demonstrated success in a variety of marketing, sales leadership, and general management roles of progressively greater scope and responsibility.

+ Deep experience in the US & Global market and specifically in the area of CV/Lipids, including knowledge of KOL's. A track record of building U.S.-centric business strategy and leading implementation/application of growth strategies in ex-US markets.

+ Extensive experience in Global Marketing

+ Proven command of classic marketing disciplines and techniques and extensive sales leadership experience. Demonstrated success in commercial planning, launching, aggressively growing and managing products through their life cycle is important.

+ Experience building patient-focused commercial strategies

+ Demonstrated operational skills. Has developed effective sales plans and incentive programs which drive results.

+ Strong key account management skills. Extensive prior experience establishing and managing relationships with key customers and other important stakeholders.

+ A demonstrated commitment to innovation. Prior experience leading significant transformational change while simultaneously managing on-target business unit performance. Proven skills in communicating changes; managing design and implementation; applying innovative thinking; aligning plans, people and processes.

+ A strong business orientation and the ability to view issues from multiple functional perspectives. Experience working collaboratively and cross-functionally with marketing brand teams, market research, sales, managed markets/KAM, sales operations, medical affairs, business development, regulatory, research & development, manufacturing, finance and legal.

+ Has experience establishing and managing strategic relationships, such as joint ventures, co-marketing agreements and development partnerships. Has well-developed implementation skills and experience with post-acquisition integration.

+ Exceptional leadership skills with proven ability to develop next generation leaders; excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills with the ability to interface seamlessly with other parts of organization.

+ A track record of cross-functional leadership and stakeholder management in a global, matrix environment.

+ Holds self and others to high degree of integrity, ethics and accountability
