## Posting Summary
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Postdoctoral Fellow for the Department of Pediatrics at Rutgers, Robert Wood Johnson Medical School.
Under the direction of the Professor and Chair, the Postdoctoral Fellow conducts specialized research in cellular and molecular biology, using judgment to apply methods and techniques, and analyze data. Designs genetically modified mouse models of specific endocrine disorders and performs tasks related to animal husbandry. Assists the Principal Investigator (PI) with budgetary, training and administrative responsibilities and performs general laboratory support tasks to ensure the smooth functioning of the Lab.
* Compiles and analyzes data with appropriate conclusions and recommendations, in support of further research, as well as research publications, grant applications and will present data to PI and other lab members.
* Assists in the establishment of performance standards, as well as in the selection of research methodologies and instrumentation, and coordination of instrumentation and experimental approaches in support of research.
* Assists with the instruction and training of students, fellows, residents, and research assistants in laboratory techniques/procedures in the area of cellular and molecular biology to carry out research assignments.
* Submits purchase recommendations to PI for analytic and preparative equipment, cellular and molecular biological reagents, and laboratory operating supplies.
* Assists in maintaining laboratory records and files and with the preparation of grant applications.
* Attends and actively participates in both weekly and monthly group research meetings and discussions.
* Keeps abreast of all pertinent federal, state and Rutgers regulations, laws and policies as they presently exist and as they change or are modified.
* Understands and adheres to Rutgers compliance standards as they appear in the RBHS Corporate Compliance Policy, Code of Conduct and Conflict of Interest Policy.

# Qualifications
## Minimum Education and Experience
* Doctoral degree.
* Relevant background in Biomedical Sciences, specifically reproductive biology, cell biology, genetics and biochemistry/molecular biology.
* Laboratory experience in cell culture and recombinant DNA.
## Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
* Effective oral and written communication skills and the ability to understand and communicate in English to sufficiently perform the job duties.
* Computer literate with proficiency and working knowledge of database and reporting tools such as Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
* Ability to work collaboratively and independently.
