# Position Information
## Posting Summary
Under the general guidance of Writing Program administrative staff and directors, the Part-Time Office Assistant performs administrative and secretarial duties. This position may also support tutoring center efforts, support Department of English/Writing Program events, troubleshoot technology, prepare student employee payroll, maintain office equipment, order supplies, answer phones, file, copy, and other tasks as directed by Writing Program directors and staff. This position should complete other work consistent with a basic understanding of the mission, vision, role, and goals of the administrative, academic, or research unit, and the tasks and responsibilities of the Office Assistant in the achievement of unit goals. This position performs professional work that requires knowledge of general administrative/office support practices and the basic application and use of concepts, approaches, and terminology of unit administration.
# Qualifications
## Minimum Education and Experience
Requires a Bachelor's degree in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience. Requires up to two years relevant experience in an administrative function, good communication and interpersonal skills, and computer literacy.
## Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
A bachelor's degree in a relevant field is preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience that demonstrates knowledge and understanding of office administration, organization, coordination, facilitation, bookkeeping, and/or report writing. Minimum required is High School diploma. Must have excellent interpersonal, organizational, problem solving, verbal and writing skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Google Drive, Joomla, Access and Sakai is encouraged. Must be able to meet deadlines and have strong attention to detail. Salary is contingent upon experience.
